Oooh! A Shiny!

Yes, I know that shiny lights and what not will be in the next lesson, but this was a part of my solution for decorating the inside of the building (since he had a lot of stuff that I didn't).

Lesson 10. I went in and noticed that he had some stuff that I didn't (like the generator and storage tanks) so I just goofed around while still doing the initial lesson.

Is that a statue of a Monk praying to a bunch of barrels? Yes, yes it is.

So I've been learning about textures again! And I've gotta say, I'm loving this whole "stick to the grid" safety thing. It's making my work a mess of a lot easier.

Playing With Static Meshes

So I hit video 8 just a little bit ago and had fun flinging static meshes around. I'm enjoying this.

Adding to the Window

So he went in and tried to match up the window static mesh to a window gap. He was somehow able to get into the bar at the bottom and adjust the x value according to the safe numbers, yet I wasn't able to access said value. I did fit my window into the, well, window. My window, however, seems to be penetrating the top and bottom of my building.

The Fifth Video

I can make doors and window spaces now!

The beginning of building a level. Blocks

So I learned some more about the brush you use in UDK to make a level. I even learned a bit about subtracting from a block to make a room!

Day 1... And I have completely fallen for UDK

I still can't really understand what's going on, but it does feel nostalgic. I had Unreal Tournament III for the Xbox 360 and thought it was so cool, and now I'm going to learn how to use the game engine! I Can't Wait!
