Semester Wrap-Up! The Battle-zone Colab.

As the video says, I was the modeler. It got to a point where I was almost throwing the models out for my partner Brett to fix and purtify. Good job Brett, it was fun and I'm liking how the scene turned out!

Tutorials: Quite exhausting

I've done as mush as I can on the tutorials. Some objects keep dissappearing whenever I open a file, and my fog doesn't work. But I have rain. Now I'm going to work on my other finals before I go Kaput.
The house also disappeared, CryEngine is a cruel and confusing thing, is it someone's Ex-Girlfriend?

The Cabin in the woods

I've gone and thrown in the cabin and more veggies and such. Things happened, objects needed replacing (because I loaded his files, and he apparently used stuff that our cryengine's don't have)
Lesson 16 down, let's see how far I get before other assignments crash upon my puny skull.

Veggie Tales

I'm starting on the vegetation. X-Trees looks kind of interesting. Lesson 13.

Crying Lesson 10

Lots of painting, lots of shaping, lots of time.

CryEngine Lesson 8

Lesson 8. Things keep glitching, but I'm suffering through it.

Begginings of CryEngine and many sleepless nights

I managed to get up to lesson 5 in CryEngine during my workshift, and although it is a beautiful looking program I fear I won't have time to enjoy it.

Update of items!

So I cranked out all of these items (mostly untextured, because I HATE texturing) today, and am now exhausted. I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle 7 art projects, 2 tests, and the tutorials. Wish me as much luck as you can, I'm gonna need it.

I don't quite know how to do strings, so let's see if I figure out an easy way or do it the hard way.
I think my Rubix Cube looks mighty awesome!

Progress on making stuff

So I've been piecing stuff together and slightly editing other stuff, here's what I have so far:

Nothing is textured or too detailed, because I am terrible at that and will (hopefully) be back to it soonish. some objects will be duplicated.

Tank without Chain

Later on I'll come in and make a chain to link the wheels, but for now I should jump to a bed and such.

Some tank research

So here's some of the images I was looking at when researching toy tanks for battlezone.
-toy tanks
-toy robots
-Ghost in the shell Tachikomas (spider tanks)

A toy bear! Er.. maybe pig.

So I was going to make a little toy bear to have in the background. Why? What little kid grew up without a teddy bear? Well, it turns out that I evoked my inner pig, not bear. So here's my progress on that as of now.

Modeling of our tanks - Round 1

So I've started on modeling the tanks. I have the first one up to a default mesh and some shaping of the top piece.
Here's a link to the tutorial series I'm using. I plan to build a default mesh and then modify the tanks based on what genre they will be from.

Toybox Battlezone!

So Brett and I are hoping to make battlezone into a more toyboxy/toy story like way. I've gone and made a VERY rough graybox of what it'll look like. The ball is a ball, probably a basketball, that will have rigidbody and may move upon being shot. We'll see. the blocks making a pattern is a rough idea of blocking in the battlezone, and the blocks inside of said battlezone will be random modeled toys. There will be at least 1 modeled train lying around as cover. I also want to add a barrel of monkeys, and plan to use the alphabet blocks as both a battlezone divider and as makeshift credits. The highlighted object in the center is the first person camera, just so you know.

Tips lesson 17 cloth

I feel sufficiently prepared to start tearing some cloth.

Tips Lesson 16

Cubed Textures. Awesome. I had seen the examples and wondered how they did that, now I'm happy.

Tips Lesson 15 - Rendering Modes

Alpha - spot little hiccups with black space seeping into level's white space.
Overdraw - Spot things that may need to be culled.
Mipmaps - Show areas with too much resolution or not enough resolution. Red = Too much, Blue = Too Little.
